Scorpio 23’L Telescopic Boom

Building on the concept of the lightweight telescopic boom series—such as the Scorpio 10’ and Scorpio 17’—Servicevision has introduced the Scorpio 23”L, a three-section lightweight telescopic boom that is ideally suited for the television and broadcast markets. While the original 23 model had a payload capacity of 70 kg, the new 23L offers a reduced payload of up to 40 kg, making it significantly lighter than the standard Scorpio 23. It shares the same column and base as the Scorpio 10’ and 17’, ensuring compatibility and ease of integration. With an exceptionally compact configuration, this base features an articulated arm that allows the standard base track width to be adjusted between 62 cm and 40 cm, matching the Scorpio track dimensions. Additionally, it can pass through standard office doorways (80 cm), enabling access to virtually any location. The unit also utilizes the same telescopic column, providing an extra 36 cm of vertical extension. Two distinct operating modes are available: - **Electronic Mode**: The standard setting, enabling electrically powered telescoping movements. Powered by batteries, it delivers the renowned performance characteristic of all Scorpio telescopic cranes—smooth operation, precise control, and consistent behavior at both low and high speeds. - **Manual Mode**: A new option that allows operators to manually move the boom. The operator can physically guide the telescopic section, while the arm and head automatically follow to maintain a level horizontal position.

Product Description

Building on the concept of the Scorpion’s lightweight telescopic booms—such as the 10‑foot and 17‑foot models—Servicevision has introduced the 23‑foot Scorpion, a three‑section, lightweight boom that is ideally suited for the television and broadcast markets. To accommodate a reduced payload capacity of 70 kg, a new 23L variant has been developed, with a payload rating of 40 kg; it is significantly lighter than the standard 23‑foot model. Like the 10‑foot and 17‑foot Scorpions, it shares the same mast and base for support.

It features a very small and compact design; this base is equipped with an articulated arm that allows the standard base rail width to be adjusted to 62 cm, as well as to the 40-cm Scorpio rail.

It can also pass through a standard office doorway (80 cm) to reach virtually any location. It shares the same telescoping column, which can extend an additional 36 cm.

Two different modes

  • Electronics: This is the standard mode, enabling telescopic electronic motion. Powered by batteries, it ensures the performance for which all Scorpio telescopic cranes are renowned—exhibiting consistent behavior, smooth operation, and high precision at both low and high speeds.
  • Manual: A new mode that allows for the creation of manual motion, enabling the operator to manually move the telescoping boom, while the arm and head follow in accordance with the maintained horizontal plane.

Product Features

  • Like other products, the new 23’L retains many of the advantages found in its counterparts.
  • Smooth and precise movement at both high and low speeds
  • Noise Reduction System for Telescopic Arm Motion
  • Next-generation horizontal head
  • Possesses true vision.
  • Allows manual operation on the arm to align the head with the horizon.
  • Manually and electronically adjustable level offset
  • Hanging and inverted hanging functions
  • Standard electronic box with control functions (no display)
  • Automatic compensator for arc trajectories generated by horizontal and vertical arm movements
  • Programmable electronic limit arm range
  • Adjustable speed and stop damping for the arm
  • Used to capture tilt, pan, and arm encoder readings during motion tasks.
  • 3D Camera Position Tracking System
  • A camera tracking system suitable for virtual studios and augmented reality, featuring a Scorpion telescoping arm; head and travel can be tracked in real time via the “STYPE” or MOSYS integration system, enabling real-time augmented reality and virtual studio broadcasting.
  • Motion generator (telescoping cannon and head interface)
  • The possibility of connecting the Scorpio base to the crane enables us to perform post‑processing and positioning; the head will adjust its distance in response to the crane’s movements—pan, tilt, and telescoping—while tracking the previously selected target.

Dual-purpose in one arm, breaking the limits of perspective: China’s first Naga dual-mode folding boom arm.

Ounome’s latest Naga dual‑mode folding jib breaks free from the limitations of traditional straight‑arm designs. Featuring a three‑axis mechanical linkage system, it enables the arm to fold and retract with complete freedom. Its proprietary chain‑drive technology synchronously controls the front‑arm folding angle, counterweight balance, and pan‑tilt leveling, allowing seamless manual adjustment of the camera’s reach without any electrical power. Constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy, it boasts an impressive front‑end load capacity of up to 40 kg, effectively eliminating the common issue of track‑movement interference. As a standalone solution, it combines the stability of a conventional jib with the flexibility of an imported telescoping arm, significantly reducing production costs. Now available, it has quickly won the favor of photographers worldwide.
